We plan to make this one of our best ever but this will depend on the help you can give us. We need more arena events; do you know anyone or group who can demonstrate or perform or show something? You or us need to contact them now to book them in time.

We never have enough helpers and this puts a tremendous strain on the few stalwarts who work so very hard at every occasion. Can you spare an hour or two or even the whole time helping with such things as teas, selling raffle tickets, manning the info centre or one of the fund-raising stalls. We also need more offers of live music.

Naturally we would like you to encourage your friends and neighbours to visit but why not also suggest that they can have a table to sell their bric-a-brac/whatever for only £6. Last September we had a lot of cars selling tack and other bits from their boots and we welcome this addition to the fund-raising.

We are hoping to feature swimming for the first time but require the help of a qualified lifeguard. Our largest fund-raiser on the day is the raffle but this requires at least some very good prizes. Perhaps you have a present or something tucked away in a box that you are never likely to use? Do you know someone who can offer a ride in a Rolls or a trip on a yacht or a flight in a plane or a flight in a balloon or an hours therapy or an hours beauty treatment or . . . . Whatever.
